Dr. Carol Scott has been the Chair of the International Council of Museums in the United Kingdom (ICOM UK) since 2012 and is now a member of the Executive Board of ICOM International. Her research interests include cultural memory and museums and measuring and leveraging cultural value. Among her recent publications are Museum measurement: questions of value (2015), New trends: social change, museum brands and public value (2015), The Cultural Value of Engaging with Museums and Galleries (2014) and Museums and Public Value: creating sustainable futures (Ashgate 2013). ‘Museums and Public Value: taking the pulse’ will be published in Public Value- A Research Anthology in 2018 (Ashgate). A member of the UK Advisory Committee for the Cultural Value Project and a consultant with an international client list, she has been involved with ICOM MPR for a decade and is delighted to be part of this year’s conference.
